What we have done thus far......

As of 03/2018 We have paid more than $47,000.00 in Bills for Parents currently battling cancer.

To Honor the children who are in the Cancer fight, this past September we donated $1000.00 to a family in need.  It was our inaugural "JB Gift."  In honor of a boy battling the beast for his 3rd time, who reminds us what grace and strength are.

KM3 Profiles of Parents we have help.......

This patients story started with her cancer diagnosis in 2010.  She has a 6 1/2 year old son that has only known his mom in this battle.  She has stage IV cancer that is in her brain, lungs and liver.  Her cancer treatment will never end so she must endure chemo always.  Her fiance lost his job and unemployment has left a gap in their finances.  We have made payments for her prescription drug insurance coverage, helped with her rent on 2 different occasions and most recently paid her electric bill to keep her lights on.  It means the world to be able to help her.  Thanks to those who donate to KM3.

Imagine having 2 children in high school and finding out you have stage IV breast cancer.  Not only is the cancer in your breast it has also been found in your brain and lungs.  For our patient #12 that is reality.  She had to immediately stop working and begin fighting for her life.  How do you pay your bills, pay for food and gas if you have no income?  It is that moment that KM3 comes to help.  We have provided her the ability to provide food for her family.

We shall call her Angel.  Angel is a single mother of a toddler and a teenager.  She is currently battling metastatic breast cancer.  Due to her treatments she can hardly work.  Prior to her diagnosis she had braces put on her teenage daughter.  Since not working has placed her in a financial burden the monthly payments to the orthodontist  became less of a priority.  The account fell behind, went to a collection agency and the braces were just sitting on her daughters teeth. KM3 paid that account in full.  This teenage girl lost her father to cancer when she was a toddler and her mom is now battling it.  I received a picture of her smiling with a note saying thank you for keeping her smile on track.  Seems like the least we could do.....
We shall call her Brave.  Brave is living a life where 10 people depend on her.  She is battling ovarian cancer.  She was first diagnosed in 2008 with the latest recurrence in August of 2014.  As if cancer is not enough, she was laid of from her job in December.  Brave will be applying to get COBRA coverage so she can continue her care uninterrupted.  In the meantime with money being tight she was faced with the decision of paying bills or buying food.  Seriously.  KM3 gave her a gift card for her local market.  This is what she said in a note to us: "Thanks to The KM3 Project we have been at peace, we are paying our bills and it has given us time to get back on track."

We shall call her Courage.  Courage is a mom of of 3 small children.  She was diagnosed in 2011 with stage IV colon cancer that has traveled to her liver and lungs.  She is in chemotherapy every 3 weeks.  Her husband works but had to go on paid Family Medical Leave for 6 weeks over the holidays.  Their income has dropped significantly in the past 3 years.  In December of this year they were able to pay all their bills except for their car payment.  The KM3 Project paid for 3 months of their car payment.
Shouldn't everyone get to drive their own car to chemotherapy?
Keep fighting Courage!

We shall call her Mrs. C.  She has been battling Breast Cancer since 2008.  In August she had it diagnosed on her other side and it has spread into her lymph nodes.  She had to quit her job due to the cancer treatments.  She is enduring ongoing chemotherapy with surgery coming up.  She has spent almost all of her savings to rent, gas and food.  With so much to worry about KM3 paid a month of her rent so she can focus on getting healthy.  Fight on Mrs. C!
Let's call him Mr. C.  He has recurrent  leiomyosarcoma that has traveled to his lung, stomach and other areas.  He has 5 tumors  alone in his lungs.  Mr. C is a youth pastor at his church and is married to a nurse who was recently laid off due to a grant ending.  They have a 3 kids all trying to hold part-time jobs while going to school.  He cannot work due to his condition.  When I called him to tell him we would be paying a large portion of his March rent he broke down in tears thanking God for our helping him.  He has since sent me some of his music and he is an artist with an amazing will to fight and survive.  Thank you Mr. C for sharing with me your faith and strength.
I shall call him Strength.  Strength is the sole provider for 6 children and his wife.  He was diagnosed with stage IV cancer in his head and neck.  He had to immediately leave his job to start his aggressive treatment of chemo and radiation simultaneously.  As disability takes months to obtain, he was in need of immediate assistance to get him through those first life changing months.
This is where KM3 came in.  We paid a month of his mortgage so he could start treatment with a little less stress.  Imagine a visit to the doctor turning into you fighting for your life.  Please pray for him.

For our purposes I shall call this patient: Marvel.  Marvel was hospitalized when we received his application.  He had been hospitalized for a month and was unable to be discharged until it was verified he could pay his co-pay for the medicine he needs.  The medicine is named Arsenic Trioxide with a $200.00 per day co-pay.  His significant other has had multiple strokes and she resides in a nursing home.  Their 15 year old son was being cared for by neighbors and friends.  KM3 wanted him home with his son.  We paid a month of his rent and he was able to be discharged from the hospital to be with his son.
I shall call him Mr. s.  Mr. S was diagnosed with stage IV carcinoma of the neck.  A diagnosis of this nature requires immediate and aggressive.  Mr.S resides 60+ miles from the facility that can offer the chemo and radiation he needs.  Like Strength above he had to leave his job to be treated, relying on disability from State and Federal.  The state process takes months and the Federal aid can take years. Needless to say his mortgage payment created anxiety.  KM3 paid a portion of his mortgage 4 months in a row to give him some breathing room. Fight a great fight Mr. S.
We shall call her Song.  Song is a single mom diagnosed with stage III  Ovarian Cancer.  She has 3 children who depend on her.  She is unable to work as she once did due to the chemotherapy treatment she is currently receiving.  The KM3 project paid her rent for a month as to relieve some stress from her life.  Fighting cancer while working and taking care of 3 kids is an amazing feat.  We support you Song.
