Fighting Cancer is Rough,
We're here to help.

Welcome to The KM3 Project website
Enjoy your visit....

MAY 1ST, 2020 FUNDRAISER UPDATE

Due to the crazy times we are in, we are going to postpone our "Annual Fundraiser."  We hope to get together and have our annual party down the road perhaps in sometime between August-October.  My favorite holiday is Halloween so maybe a costume event..... We will keep you posted.
Sidebar:  We are still receiving applications for patients in need and will not postpone helping as long as we have funds.  Donations are always accepted and appreciated.  :)
Take care of yourselves and your loved ones.
XOxo, Kirsten

A note from Kirsten to all that visit

Hello There,
When life deals you a hand that is so horrible words can't do it justice, you need help. I was dealt that hand on May 3, 2012 with the diagnosis of stage III cancer while being 20 weeks pregnant.  The year ahead included lots of chemotherapy, the birth of a healthy son with then lots of radiation that ultimately led to me laying in a street at the feet of my sister with a heart that  stopped beating on May 1, 2013.   I think it goes against our nature as humans to ask for help however, as humans it is in our nature to help.  While my hand I was dealt was horrific it brought something to my attention, something quite beautiful...just how many people care for me and my family.  I remember thinking how could it be possible that I could warrant all this help?  Who do the hundreds of people coming to help me think I am?  I then realized it is about life not just me.  Life is hard.  It is about helping each other get through it.  We all have the power to make it not so hard for others.  I could never pay back all the kindness I received.  My family was fed hundreds of meals that nourished our bodies and our souls.  My bare head was kept warm by the hats and scarfs sent to help and my newborn son was clothed and cared for when I couldn't do it.  I had blankets given to wrap up in when I was chilled to my soul and gifts and attention bestowed upon my girls. So many showed up to an event held in my honor...."Kindness For Kirsten"... Since I was unable to attend my husband sent me pictures that had me tears. Hundreds visited my Caring Bridge site following my story and with one click of their mouse they let me know I was not forgotten.  My mailbox, voice mail and text message mailbox were overflowing with wishes of wellness.  So many prayers that when I was on my knees I was able to stand.  I am now in the position to not only say thank you from the bottom of my heart but to also do unto others as was done to me.  It is a pretty great spot to be in.  Thank you.  XO, Kirsten
